CIS Atlanta Site Coordinator Celebrates 25 Years of Service 🎊🎉
La'Vonna Taylor, our site coordinator at Brown Middle School, is celebrating 25 years of dedicated service to Communities In Schools of Atlanta. La'Vonna started with CIS in August of 1995 when it was under the Free Standing Academy model. Her first assignment was at Rich's Academy.
She began her career in education at an alternative school academy in Atlanta Public Schools as a Student Records Specialist, then a Social Service Specialist, then a Graduation Coach, and now as a Site Coordinator.
She states, “I love being an encouraging part of young people's lives by cultivating one-on-one relationships with students as they earn incentives and recognitions for improvements and achievements. The ‘feel good’ part of the work keeps me going. Being the product of Atlanta Public Schools, it was really fulfilling to become part of a design that nurtures the whole student. The student, family, and community connections are priceless.” She has served students and families in Atlanta, DeKalb, and Fulton County Schools with elementary, middle, and high School assignments.
La'Vonna attended Atlanta Public Schools (K-12) from Grove Park Elementary to West Fulton High School. She received her associate’s degree in General Studies from Georgia Perimeter College, bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Covenant College, and master’s degree (M.Ed.) in Education from Strayer University.
Please help us congratulate Ms. La'Vonna Taylor on 25 wonderful years of dedicated service to Communities In Schools of Atlanta!
