Women Up Wednesday at Fain Elementary School

Communities In Schools of Atlanta currently serves at Margaret A. Fain Elementary School located in Atlanta, GA (APS). On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, Fain Elementary School hosted a forum, Women Up Wednesday, for third, fourth and fifth grade girls to address and combat bullying which is becoming a challenge at the school.

The Communities In Schools of Atlanta team consisting of Tishy Vincent, Programs Manager, Lisa Wilson, Programs/Partnerships Lead, Kaprece Temple, Data Clerk, and Dr. Kimberly Walker, Director of Evaluation, hosted several Mean Girls sessions at Women Up Wednesday that included ice breakers, discussions, and moderators’ personal, real-life experiences to address and diminish mean girl attitudes and bullying at Fain.

At the conclusion of the sessions, Kaprece became an on-the-spot mentor to a third grader at Fain who related to her childhood experience of moving multiple times throughout elementary school.
