Communities In Schools of Atlanta Hosts Financial Literacy Workshop for Middle Schoolers

Joquita, our Site Coordinator at Bunche Middle School, created a virtual financial literacy workshop for her students. In partnership with Roark Capital, 45 students from grades 6 to 8 were able to learn about topics such as budgeting and using credit wisely from some of Roark’s team members.

Students were taught how to read a check stub and understand payroll deductions. Additionally, students received Visa gift cards, a treat bag, a budgeting journal, and a book about finance for children in order to maintain the lessons learned from this workshop.
