Youth Leaders Give Back to Their Community

Feldwood Elementary and Gullatt Elementary had a collaborative "Choose Success" project. 4th-grade students made snack packs and “breakfast-on-the-go” packs for Christian City Children's Village. Christian City was established in 1965 as a refuge for children in need of a loving home, providing a 24/7 Safe Place program for runaway and homeless youth.

Our students made over 150 packs for the kids and teens at the village and were very excited to be able to give back to their surrounding community. Students also had to complete a post in their journal on why it was important to give back. "It makes my heart smile and feels good inside," was one of our favorite quotes from a 4th grader from Feldwood. Thank you, young leaders, for giving back to our community.
