CIS of Atlanta Students Attend Colin Kaepernick’s “Know Your Rights” Camp

Professional Football Player, Colin Kaepernick, best known for taking a knee during NFL games to stand up against police brutality in black and brown communities, hosted his “Know Your Rights” Camp in Atlanta.

Thanks to a partnership with Girls Incorporated, CIS of Atlanta students were able to attend the Camp, which focuses on raising awareness to opportunities in higher education, self empowerment, and instructions on how to properly interact with law enforcement in various scenarios. Speakers included Attorney Ben Crump, Nick Cannon and Colin Kaepernick.

Special thanks to Girls Inc. for mentoring 20 7th grade girls at Brown Middle School and La'Vonna Taylor, CIS of Atlanta Site Coordinator for working hard to give the girls great experiences like these.
