CIS of Atlanta Team Spreads Holiday Cheer: La'Vonna and Eric

The semester is over, and our team is taking a well-deserved break for two weeks. However, we will be sharing their acts of kindness to highlight the important work they do during the holidays and throughout the year.

La’Vonna and Eric are our Site Coordinators at Brown Middle School, and they were busy this past month distributing gifts to their students and community. Seventeen of La’Vonna’s students received gifts thanks to our partnership with Girls of Excellence. The BMS Prize Patrol took a caravan journey around the school zone to award one student each in grade 6, 7, and 8 with gifts to congratulate them on their efforts in academics, citizenship, and attendance. One of La’Vonna's students, Jahliel, was a winner of a 32-inch Smart TV! Way to go, Jahliel! Additionally, three students were gifted a CIS of Atlanta-sponsored tablet.

La’Vonna also shared her experience about a small project for her students which morphed into 105 students joining to extend some holiday cheer. These students created personal notes inside tree ornaments as a way to show thanks to some of our local heroes.

Last week, La’Vonna delivered these ornaments to Atlanta Fire & Rescue Station Numbers 7, 14, and 17. “The representatives, at each location, were surprised, honored and happy to know the kids were thinking of them,” says La’Vonna.

Happy Holidays to our students, staff, and families at Brown Middle School and to our local heroes at Atlanta Fire & Rescue!
