We Won! CIS of Atlanta Documentary “Beating the Odds” Wins Big at International Black Film Festival!

Our team is over the moon with excitement after winning “best short documentary” for our film, “Beating the Odds” at the International Black Film Festival in Nashville.

Filmmakers Jessica and Jason Young were there to receive this prestigious honor and said, “We were humbled and overwhelmed with gratitude, that the essence of our film resonated with the audience and the Film Festival host committee.”

Beating the Odds shadows the trials our students face and the life-changing mission of CIS of Atlanta. “Beating the Odds” highlights the stories of the students we serve, along with our CEO, Frank Brown’s story about overcoming challenges to become the leader he is today.

Frank Brown says, “I am very humbled by this amazing award. We want to get the amazing CIS of Atlanta story out to the whole country. Beating the Odds is doing just that.”
