Carl Buddig, Councilman Aaron Watson and Clifford the Big Red Dog helped CIS of Atlanta Celebrate Literacy During the Be A Reader Tour
The core of Communities In Schools programming is engaging local communities in local schools. Each community is full of individuals, businesses and civic organizations that have a stake in the success of schools. CIS of Atlanta’s staff members build relationships with those groups and connect them with schools to meet the needs of students and families. Ultimately, we believe that successful students and thriving schools contribute to strong, vibrant communities.
CIS of Atlanta’s program model is unique. Our staff members report to local schools daily as full-time employees. This enables CIS of Atlanta staff members to build strong, genuine relationships with students, families, school faculty and staff and the communities surrounding schools. CIS of Atlanta staff members are caring, trusted adults who are able to have a significant impact because they are a consistent and active presence in local schools and communities.
