CIS of Atlanta serving seventy-two Atlanta and DeKalb County schools during the 2008-09 school year CIS of Atlanta is proud to share that its programs are growing by leaps and bounds. This school year, CIS of Atlanta is serving 72 schools in Atlanta and DeKalb County with enrollments of more than 46,000 students! This marks a 37% increase in the number of young people and families able to access CIS of Atlanta's programs in their schools. CIS of Atlanta is a partner in an exciting new initiative of DeKalb County Schools, DeKalb Graduates. Through this initiative, CIS of Atlanta has full-time staff members in 12 DeKalb County high schools to help students in need of support. CIS of Atlanta staff members will be working closely with school staff and faculty, students and parents to make strides in the areas of student attendance and behavior, parental engagement and ensuring that students and families have access to critical resources.

Office Depot provides backpacks for students in CIS of Atlanta partner schools
On August 11, 2008, CIS of Atlanta received 250 brand new backpacks from Office Depot as a part of the company's National Backpack Program. Since its inception, Office Depot's Backpack program has donated more than 1.8 million backpacks to worthy youth-serving organizations around the country.
